We are establishing a new mosque in Tøyen because it is a central and easily accessible location for Muslims across Oslo. After searching extensively, this was the only suitable location we found that could meet the needs of our growing community and future activities.

Tøyen was chosen because of its central location and excellent access to public transportation. The area makes it easier for people from different parts of Oslo to attend prayers, classes, and community events. It was also the most suitable and realistic property available for this project.

The property is a commercial building (næringseiendom / commercial property) that will be renovated and adapted to serve as a mosque and community center.

The property is being purchased from a private individual.

This mosque is intended to serve the entire Muslim community. People of all ages and backgrounds are welcome to benefit from prayers, Islamic education, youth programs, family activities, and community services.

The goal of this mosque is to establish a permanent Islamic center that serves the spiritual, educational, and social needs of the community. We aim to create a welcoming place for prayer, learning, youth development, family support, and community unity for generations to come.

This mosque aims to be more than just a prayer space. Our vision is to establish a vibrant Islamic center focused on unity, education, youth engagement, and long-term community development. Its central location also makes it accessible to Muslims from many different areas and backgrounds.

Our intention is to build a mosque that is accessible to the wider Muslim community, not limited to one nationality or neighborhood. Tøyen provides a central location with easy public transport connections, making it easier for people from all parts of Oslo to attend and benefit from the mosque.

The total cost of the project is approximately 6 million NOK, including renovation and necessary preparations to make the building suitable as a mosque and Islamic community center.

The project will be financed entirely through donations from the community and supporters both in Norway and internationally. We are relying on sadaqah, fundraising campaigns, and continuous community support to complete the purchase and renovations.

You can either make a one-time donation or become a monthly donor. Both options are available on our donation page.

First and foremost, please make du’a for Hikmah. Beyond that, it is very important to spread the word so others can support the project too.

If you are a member of two different organisations at the same time, neither of them will receive the benefit of your membership. Please make sure your membership is registered with only one.

You can check your membership affiliation at person.brreg.no by signing in with BankID or a similar method. Your membership information will be listed under “Medlemskap i tros- og livssynssamfunn”.

To cancel your membership with another religious institution, first fill out the official cancellation form (PDF).

Once completed, deliver the form directly to the institution. This can be done physically or electronically, though delivering it in person is preferred and usually faster.

Once you have confirmed that you are no longer a member of another mosque, or after you have submitted your cancellation form, you can register as a member of Hikmah by filling out our membership form.

If you register as a member this year, Hikmah will start receiving the benefit from next year onwards. That is why it is important to become a member as early as possible.

Yes. There are parking opportunities available around the mosque area, including nearby street and gate parking.

The mosque is planned to accommodate a significant number of worshippers for daily prayers, Jumu’ah, Ramadan activities, and community gatherings. Exact capacity will depend on the final renovation layout and approvals.
